The original New York City cabaret 1938, conceived and written by RIcky Ritzel and Spider Saloff, directed by James Luzar, was first performed on February 16, 1989 at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City. The show contained 38 songs either written or popularized in the 1938, as well as original material such as the character Muriel Winslow, who is heard on “The Girlfriend Of The Whirling Dervish.”
